Road Trip!!

On Monday, May 20th, my buddy, Eric, and I drove back from Missouri in his car. He's a man car and we call this guy 'Ol Blue. We had him loaded down, as you can see (no there's no hydrolics, just a lot of weight in the back). I'm calling this section "Adventures of 'Ol Blue." It was a 24 hr. drive turned into a 4-day road trip. Praise God, who provided all the money we needed for fuel, especially with the prices being so high. Posted by Picasa

One of the highlights of our trip was driving through Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Posted by Picasa

Look at the snow-measuring poles they had at the top of the pass! They're like fifteen feet tall! These poles are markers, so they know where to plow in the winter. (Otherwise, they might lose the road, since the snow actually gets that high.) Posted by Picasa

At 12,200 ft., we felt like we were standing on top of the world! Posted by Picasa

Eric and I at Bear Lake. The views make it worth every penny they charge to drive through the park.  Posted by Picasa

The chipmunks in the park were fat and happy. This is probably one of the few meals this little guy picked up on his own. The tourists just love 'em. Great food...a beautiful background...what more could a rodent ask for?? Posted by Picasa

In Western Colorado, we had to stop for this family who was taking their cattle up the road. I just love the west (open range).  Posted by Picasa

This was 'Ol Blue's first cross-country trip and he ran great, only overheating once as we crossed from Utah into Idaho. We made it home in four days (stayed 3 nights with friends along the way)! What a trip. Posted by Picasa
